Reverse engineering
When a mold has no drawings, we recreate them. 3D scanning and scan-to-CAD turn worn or damaged active parts back into clean, machinable geometry.
Drawings recovered from geometry
Many older molds arrive without documentation, and their active parts wear or get damaged over time. We digitise the physical geometry and rebuild it as a CAD model — so a worn insert can be re-machined, and a mold without drawings becomes maintainable again.
Capturing the real part
Zeiss optical 3D scanning captures the exact surface of an existing part or active mold component as a dense point cloud — the accurate starting point for rebuilding its geometry.
- High-resolution Zeiss optical 3D scanning.
- Ideal for worn or damaged active parts.
From scan to machinable model
Our scan-to-CAD software turns the scan into a clean, parametric-quality CAD model that can drive machining. The result: active parts that can be reproduced, and molds without drawings brought back under control.
- Clean, parametric-quality scan-to-CAD reconstruction.
- Redraw of active parts for molds without drawings.
- Feeds directly into our CNC machining and toolroom.
Backed by advanced tooling
Reverse engineering is part of a wider set of specialised capabilities in the plant — including TRUMPF laser equipment and the foaming system used for our two-component sealing work — that let us take on demanding, non-standard tasks.
